FINDLEY KOS HEARNS
Mr. Derrick "Superman" Findley closes the chapter in Ronald Hearns book. Findley give Ronald Hearns the KO the might but Hearns into retirement.
Middleweight Derrick “Superman” Findley (20-8, 13 KO’s) jumped up to a weight class and pulled off the upset by scoring a 2nd round Knockout over the former top ten middleweight Ronald “The Choosen One” Hearns (26-4, 20 KO’s) earlier tonight on Hitman Entertainment‘s “Duel Downriver”. Hearns had to be carried out of the ring in a stretcher after the punishing power shots he received by Findley.
This was not the way promoter George Kaltsas pictured his main event ending, Findley who was a last minute replacement was suppose to lose but obviously nobody ever informed Findley that, Findley looked very sharp and accurate.
“Findley can beat anyone in the middleweight division when he has enough time to properly train, he scored two back to back knockouts, we will continue to help Findley’s journey back to title contention” said his promoter Cynthia Tolaymat of CFC promotions.
The night also served up a tribute to Hearns’ father Tommy “Hitman” Hearns, a 6-time world champion.
Tommy Hearns, also known as the Motor City Cobra won his titles in five different weight divisions, ranging from welterweight (147 pounds) to cruiserweight (200).
